Geriatric Medical Center is situated in Toms River, NJ. Established in 2000, our center works together to provide the best comfort and care for our patients and their families. We take pride in ensuring that each of our patients receives the personal attention he or she needs from our entire staff, and we make sure their families and caregivers are informed every step of the way regardless of whether the patient is in a nursing home, assisted facility, rehabilitative facility, hospitalized, or at home. We provide a continuity of care.
Our doctors are experienced in offering a wide variety of medical services for your entire family. We are board certified in internal and geriatric medicine. We specialize in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses. Our staff has years of experience in geriatric care, preventive medicine, mental health as well as effective treatments of most common as well as complicated medical problems. They are committed to provide each and every patient individualized care.
Dr Sanjiv K. Sharma, MD
Dr. Sharma is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and served as the Chief Resident of the program in his final year. During his residency, Dr. Sharma became interested in the complex needs of his aging patients, leading him to complete a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine. He established the Center for Geriatric Medicine in Toms River, New Jersey in 2000. Recognizing a need for additional services for his patients, Dr. Sharma founded Advanced Memory Research Institute in 2013 where he conducts clinical trials for Alzheimer’s Disease.
Dr. Sharma is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. Through individualized patient and family education, medication management, and specialized treatment plans, his patients live fuller, healthier lives through the years.
